Young Urban Arts
Powering the creative lives of young people in Dublin
Young Urban Arts is an exciting, innovative and unique partnership comprising of three organisations: a major local authority, Dublin City Council; a renowned arts organisation, CityArts; and, the city's official body for youth services, CDYSB, all working together for the first time to a very important and inspiring goal.
Young Urban Arts mission is to maximise its resources and capacity to provide and promote access to and participation in, quality art forms especially for young people in a youth work context.
There are many reasons why this important partnership has happened. Young Urban Arts believes that the arts and cultural programmes work and are powerful tools in tackling educational disadvantage and improving life choices and has and is developing in response to the huge gap and urgent need across the city for quality arts programmes for young people.
Young Urban Arts feels that it is so important that the growing creative and training needs of the young people, the youth worker and the artist are met and are therefore involved in programming exciting, quality and varied arts programmes for young people in youth projects and in providing and facilitating quality training to youth workers and artists.
Young Urban Arts will also work with, and at times partner with, key agencies, educational interests, funders and policy makers to deliver programme initiatives and to promote the value of this work.
